![]() ![]() They made them them Trill, but didn't seem to flesh out the backstories of the previous hosts so we don't get any recollections of the previous hosts like Jadzia and Ezri, just offhand remarks about previous hosts like Admiral Senna Tal which results in the story going nowhere. In particular with the Adira/Gray story, I've said it before on other threads, they made Adira/Gray Trill, but it's always revolving around Adira & Gray and continues into Season 4. However, they did have the whole episode bringing Ni'Var back into the Federation, and episode 7 did lay the easter egg for bringing United Earth+Titan back to the Federation as well, likely before the season is over I'm betting, so that it would bring back at least 2 founding members of the Federation and perhaps will lead to more world (re-)joining in the future. seems like the writers haven't fleshed out this conclusion yet either. Nothing in detail is mentioned about Cardassia and Bajor and what happened, did they make up? why wasn't Bajor at the DMA assembly. Similarly, the Easter eggs of the Ferengi and Cardassians at the conference in Season 4, but no Bajor in the vote in Episode 7, yet the Federation president is a Cardassian/Bajorian/Human tribrid. can't put my finger on what it is, but it felt like the Producers and Writers wanted to throw the audience a bone with all these Easter Eggs to Trill and GoF, without going to much into detail, so it makes it feel happy & giddy while watching it but ends up feeling a bit lackluster. But to me, these episodes were missing a certain je ne sais quoi. So in Season 3, they did some episodic formats when Discovery visited United Earth and Trill, and there was the 2-part send-off for Georgiou with the Guardian of Forever. It would be a throwaway line but at least it wouldn't be as frustrating to watch 6 episodes of them not asking Zora at all. At the very least, ask Zora to start analyzing in Ep 2 and not Ep 6. like I would imagine they would ask in Episode 2 as soon as Kweijian was hit. And this continues in Season 4 with the whole DMA thing as the main overarching season arc, and they only finally start asking Zora in episode 6? if she can analyze it and compare to the data she has from the Season 2 Sphere of Knowledge. I think the show's gotten backlash for the serialized formats in Seasons 1 & 2, and they tried to course correct starting in Season 3 with more episodic storytelling, but with a season-long plot arc.
