9/23/2023 0 Comments Geekbench laptop scores![]() ![]() When reading about the previous Intel-based model some time ago, I learned that upgrading from 32GB to 64GB of RAM would make a significant difference in power consumption and, therefore, battery life. ![]() I have been waiting for the transition to Apple Silicon to upgrade. This computer has served me very well and it has outlasted my previous MacBook Pro, as I maxed out everything on it except the storage space. How will 64GB of memory in the MacBook Pro with M1 Max affect power consumption? I currently have an early 2013 MacBook Pro with a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 (quad-core) processor and 16GB of RAM. So, am I right in thinking that a 13 inch base spec MBP with a single core score of 943 would have more than twice the performance of the Mac Pro at 453, and well over double the performance on multi-core?Ĭlearly the base spec would have 8GB RAM, so I would upgrade to 16GB anyway, but I just want to make sure I understand what the results are saying, as from what I can see here with these results, there would be no need to upgrade to an i7 processor - I'm more than happy with the performance of the Mac Pro, so if I am getting double with the base spec 13 inch MBP, I may as well just get the base spec with as much memory as I can and a larger SSD. Higher scores are better, with double the score indicating double the performance.". Geekbench says "Geekbench 5 scores are calibrated against a baseline score of 1000 (which is the score of an Intel Core i3-8100). Looking online at the 13 inch MacBook Pro Geekbench results, I can see that this gets a single core of 943 and a multi-core of 3896 - screenshots below. I have run a Geekbench test on the Mac Pro, and it gives me a single core score of 453 and a multi-core score of 1663. I'm looking to get a new MacBook Pro to run it on, and I am currently considering models and specs. I have a mid-2010 Mac Pro which I run Logic Pro X on this has 12GB RAM and a 4 core ![]()
